The only thing better than kicking off Hope Academy’s football season with a big win was fueling up on a great brunch beforehand. That’s what proud parents and fans of Chicago Hope Academy’s Eagles did last Saturday. They were treated to a brunch at the home of Alex and Ellen Morr in Winnetka, IL.
Along with fresh sandwiches, spiral ham and salads, Ellen offered fresh drinks, pop corn and fudge brownies. But the thing everyone really ate up was the conversation.
Host Alex Moore (right), with other Hope supporter, Jim Lumberg, got to meet the students that they support. Both men are board members at Hope and Jim is the father of one of the football players of Eagle’s first opposing team, North Shore Country Day.
Students joined in on the fun as proud parents shared stories of their student’s accomplishments, both in and outside of the classroom.
They include Denise & Renard, parents of players Raheem and Rashad Johnson.
Proud parents Quin Lora Smith and Bane Stevens got to take a break from cooking.
Geronimo, father of Axel Morales.
Tori Nicholson, mother of new student and freshmen tackle, Evan Nicholson.
Robert Vance, Father of Sam Vance, enjoyed tackling the luscious desserts!
Chicago Hope Academy wants to thank all of the donors, past and present who made it possible for students to attend as the school celebrates its tenth year.
Hope won its first game, 48-12.
