We provide a high quality education at a realistic price for deserving families.

Chicago Hope Academy provides a private, faith-based education and as a result, is currently unable to receive public funding to support our mission. Although we do receive tuition revenue, these fees cover less than 40% of our operating budget. Consequently, we are deeply indebted to the many donors that help keep our doors open and a viable Christian educational option available where it is needed most.

Invest in Kids

Unique Tax Credit Opportunity for IL Residents

The Invest in Kids Act is a tax-credit scholarship program that allows donors to designate funds to private educational institutions like Chicago Hope Academy. When you donate, you receive a 75% credit on your donation. This means that if you contribute $10,000, you will receive a state tax credit of $7,500. In its first year, Invest in Kids provided $61 million to sponsor the private tuition of students. Over 7,000 scholarships were distributed for children living below or close to the poverty line. If you have questions or want to be part of the impact of Invest in Kids, please contact Traci Melcer at or 757-685-7241.

If you are making a donation to the Capital Campaign or General Fund, please see below.

Note: On March 27, 2020 the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic (CARES) Act was signed into law. The CARES Act increases tax deduction for individuals and corporations for the tax year 2020. You may wish to consider the following provisions when determining your charitable giving this year. Individuals who do not itemize their deductions may take a new “above the line” charitable deduction of $300.00 per taxpayer ($600.00 per married couple). An above the line deduction reduces a donor’s adjustable gross income (AGI), and thereby reduces taxable income. Making a Donation to the Capital Campaign or General Fund? Please read new Federal Tax benefits below.

  • Individuals who do itemize may deduct donations up to 100% of their 2020 AGI, up from the previous limit of 60%.
  • Corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up to their 2020 AGI, up from the previous limit of 10%.
To qualify for these special deductions, contributions must be made during the tax year 2020. Payments on outstanding pledges also qualify, provided the payment is made in 2020.

Homes Not Prom

Mexico Trip

Our Hope seniors exchange spending money on prom tuxedos, sparkling dresses, and limo rides to serve others in one of the poorest regions in the world. Our seniors build homes for families who previously have not had running water, electricity, or beds. While Hope students try to fund the trip themselves and raise any additional money they can, there still remains a financial gap. Your generous support goes towards empowering and preparing the next generation of young leaders for a journey of lifelong success and service. Thank you again for helping to advance our missions to nurture and challenge the whole person – body, mind, and spirt – to the glory of God. We couldn’t do it without you.
