Over the past fifteen years, we have developed, what some would call, an unusual perspective of the City of Chicago. It is a perspective that includes great appreciation for the quality of life and opportunity for success that our city affords, but also a desire to see this opportunity made more readily available to all citizens of our community.
We chose Chicago’s Near West side because of its rich and diverse history and opportunities for change and growth, especially with respect to the youth in the community. Beginning in the early 1990’s , we started programs which took place after school and during the summer months. These programs included the Near West Little League, summer camps, mentor programs and scholarships for deserving youth. It was, and still is, a great ride, but we came to realize that to truly impact our kids’ lives, we needed a more comprehensive plan… namely a full-time education complete with academic, spiritual and athletic instruction and additional time to encourage, mentor and guide.
It is out of this realization that the vision for Chicago Hope Academy was born and continues to develop. On these pages we have outlined our vision and plans for a college and life preparatory high school. We, along with many gifted and committed people, are giving our lives completely to this call.
We hope you will join us.
