We are excited to introduce Ronnie Fields as the newest addition to the Hope family.
Coach Fields will be stepping in as the Head Boys Basketball Coach as we approach the 2023-2024 season, with Kevin Williams and DJ King joining as assistant coaches. Coach Fields shared, “I’m excited for the opportunity to coach in a city that embraced me and showed me so much love. I want to be a role model on and off the floor for these guys, who come from the same area I come from, to give them the opportunity to see and reach their potential.” The experience Coach Fields brings from his professional basketball career, coaching college-bound athletes, and his intentionality as mentor on and off the court, will be a huge asset to the Hope community.
Coach Fields is stepping in to fill the shoes of Antwon Johnson who announced his retirement last week. Coach Johnson led the program for 11 years as a skilled tactician and retired as the winningest coach in Hope history. With 7 Regional Championships, 2 Sectional Championships, 1 Super Sectional Championship, and a 3rd place finish downstate in 2017, Coach Johnson has left his mark on the Hope Athletics program. We thank him for his service, legacy, and commitment to investing in the character of our student-athletes.
